Second prize: The Quintessential Kiwi Day by Olivier Teernstra

“The Quintessential Kiwi Day” was selected as the second prize and wins Olivier Teernstra a short course at the Centre for Continuing Education.

Iain Macdonald said this of the second prize picture: “this appeals to the casual photographer in me. It has a fun and loose style – it’s well observed but humourous. It’s an irresistible, enjoyable shot that can’t help but make the viewer smile. It sings of the frivolity of a kiwi summer at the beach."
