*If the 2nd prize winner is unable to attend the course in Auckland, an alternative prize of equal monetary value will be selected by the Alumni Office.

Competition theme

The theme of the competition is ‘the expression of who we are’. We’re encouraging a broad interpretation. For example, the subject of your photograph could tackle issues of national identity or could be as simple as an image that tells us what makes your family unique.

Judging

We’re pleased to have the support of three esteemed University photographers, who will judge the competition.

  • Godfrey Boehnke, University Photographer
  • Dr Noel Dawson, Vice-President of Eden-Roskill Camera Club, former Associate Dean (Postgraduate), Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences
  • Iain MacDonald, Photographer at School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science

Each judge will individually score the shortlisted entries. They will then meet to discuss those with the highest scores and pick the winners.
