Dr Robert Shaw – BSc, BA, MPhil, MPubPol, PhD

Robert Shaw completed undergraduate and graduate training at Massey University, Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Auckland. His doctoral thesis, which was completed at the University of Auckland in 2010, draws upon the work of Martin Heidegger and enquires into the nature of physics and physics education. The supervisors were Professor Robin Small, Professor Peter Roberts and Dr Trevor Thwaites.

Robert taught in secondary schools, teachers’ colleges and universities in New Zealand and overseas. He was an official in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology. For eighteen years Robert was an elected member of the Porirua City Council or the Wellington Regional Council. At present, he teaches business analysis at The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and publishes on education theory, public policy and philosophy.
