Dr Ruth Harley - MA, PhD

Over the last 25 years Ruth has made an exceptional contribution to the infrastructure of the arts and media in New Zealand, after a University of Auckland English academic record remembered as one of the most outstanding since the mid seventies.

Ruth entered the world of public affairs, playing a leading role in many of New Zealand's cultural organisations, including the CEO of the Broadcasting Commission (New Zealand on Air) and the New Zealand Film Commission, which she currently heads. Throughout her varied career she has developed public policy and remained committed to educational issues.

Ruth received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002.
