Raymond Tam - BE

Raymond Tam was awarded a Bachelor of Civil & Resources Engineering (Hons) with a Senior Scholarship in 1998.

After graduating Raymond returned to Hong Kong to work as an engineer. Almost two years later he decided to make a change and pursue a career in banking.

He joined HSBC as a management trainee in 1999 and acquired a Master of Practising Accounting and an Executive MBA during his 7 years with HSBC. He is currently a certified accountant of CPA Australia and a CFA charterholder.

In 2006, Raymond joined JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. as a Vice President of its Investment Banking group in Hong Kong.

Advice Raymond offers to students is "as the going gets tough, the tough should get going".

In his spare time, Raymond enjoys racket sports, swimming, hiking and traveling. He is also interested in studying biodiversity and sustainability.

Raymond is currently a volunteer alumni co-ordinator for the University and is President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association. He would like to make contact with any alumni living in the area.
