Michael Hodgson - BE
Michael graduated from The University of Auckland in 1995, with a degree in mechanical engineering. Following his studies, he worked as an accountant auditor, and now works for SapphireOne in Sydney.
In his current role, Michael works on the expansion of the company’s business management package, programming in Fourth Dimension language.
While studying, Michael particularly enjoyed socialising, "the whole experience was great, and I’d love to do it again."
His advice to students is to "realise that a degree is not a ticket to a job or career; it’s only a starting point, a basic introduction to the subject. After you finish and go into the working world, you will realise how much you don’t know about the subject you just spent four years studying!" He recommends that anyone go to university, "educated people and especially engineers are a rare quality."
When he isn’t working, Michael enjoys writing and hobbyist audio electronics.
