Elizabeth Abbott - BA, BSc, MBA, MProfAcct
Elizabeth graduated with her BA in 1975. After graduation, she trained as a secondary school teacher and moved to Australia.
Elizabeth was newly married when she became a student, and remembers the pressures of juggling study and family responsibilities. She also remembers wishing that there was a student bar!
Studying at The University of Auckland was very much a family affair for Elizabeth - her 3 sisters are also alumni. And she didn't stop at a BA, later completing a BSc from the University of Western Australia, an MBA from Macquarie University, and a Masterate in Professional Accounting from the University of Southern Queensland.
Although she began her career in education, Elizabeth has had roles in IT, research, administration and quality management. Her current role is managing director of Techwriter Placements and Services, a recruitment agency that specialises in the placement of documentation and training experts.
When she isn't spending time with her family, Elizabeth enjoys bush walking, swimming, gardening, and lots of travelling. She toys with the idea of becoming a university lecturer one day, and possibly even completing a PhD.
