Dr Allan Bollard - BA, MA, PhD

Allan first worked as an economist with the South Pacific Commission in Noumea and then as an economics consultant in London. In 1983 he joined the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research as a senior research officer, serving as director from 1987.

In 1994 he was appointed chairman of the Commerce Commission, and in 1998 was appointed Secretary of the Treasury, a top public service economics post.

Allan received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998.
